Most commonly Asked LED Mask Questions, Answered.

LED light therapy has officially gone from something you booked at a clinic to something you can slip into your skincare routine at home. But with different wavelengths, colours, treatment times and devices to choose from, it's only natural to have a few questions.

What Is LED Light Therapy?

LED (Light Emitting Diode) light therapy uses non-UV wavelengths of light to support different skin concerns, from breakouts and visible signs of ageing to texture and overall skin health. It’s non-invasive, requires no downtime and can easily become part of your regular skincare ritual, making at-home LED masks a simple addition to your routine.

What's The Difference Between Blue, Red And Near-Infrared Light?

Blue light (415nm) is commonly used for breakout-prone skin and helps support a clearer-looking complexion.

Red light (633nm) is used to support overall skin health, firmness, texture and the appearance of fine lines.

Near-infrared light (833nm) is invisible to the eye and reaches deeper into the skin, where it is used to support skin recovery and overall skin health.

With the Bright On LED Face & Neck Mask, you can combine two wavelengths during a single treatment, allowing you to create a ritual around your skin's needs.

How Often Should I Use An LED Mask?

Consistency is key when it comes to LED light therapy. We recommend three 10-minute treatments per week. It doesn't need to be a big production, simply incorporate it into an evening wind-down, while you're watching your favourite show or whenever you have ten minutes to spare.

Should I Use My LED Mask Before Or After Skincare?

Always start with clean, dry skin. Using your LED mask before applying skincare allows the light to reach your skin without products sitting between the LEDs and your face. Once your treatment is complete, you can continue with the rest of your skincare routine as usual.

Can I Use An LED Mask Every Day?

More isn't necessarily more when it comes to LED. We recommend using the mask three times per week for 10 minutes. Following the recommended treatment schedule gives your skin a consistent routine without turning your LED session into another daily obligation.

Can I Use An LED Mask On My Neck?

Absolutely and it's one of the reasons we created Bright On Face & Neck LED Mask. The neck and décolletage are often forgotten in our skincare routines, despite being exposed to many of the same environmental factors as the face. Bright On features 864 LEDs - 432 for the face and 432 for the neck — allowing you to extend your LED light therapy beyond your jawline.

Is At-Home LED Therapy As Effective As In-Clinic Treatment?

Professional LED treatments and at-home LED masks aren't identical. In-clinic devices can use different specifications and treatment protocols, while at-home devices are designed to be convenient and suitable for regular use.

The real advantage of an at-home LED mask is consistency. Having your treatment sitting in your bathroom means you can make LED light therapy part of your regular routine, rather than something you only do when you have a clinic appointment.

Is Bright On TGA Listed?

Yes. Bright On LED Face & Neck is TGA listed in Australia (ARTG ID 428570) and meets the relevant Australian requirements for listed therapeutic goods.

Is LED Light Therapy Safe?

Bright On has been tested to conform to international eye safety standards IEC/EN 62471. Eye protection is also provided and is recommended for an added layer of safety and comfort during your treatment. However, with any skincare device, it's important to follow the recommended instructions and treatment schedule.

If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, undergoing cancer treatment, taking medications that may cause photosensitivity, using prescription-strength Retin-A or taking Accutane, consult your healthcare professional before using an LED mask.

How Do I Clean My LED Mask?

Keeping your mask fresh is very simple. After each use, gently wipe the silicone with a clean, damp cloth and allow it to air dry completely before storing. Keep it somewhere cool and dry, away from direct sunlight.

How Long Does The Bright On Battery Last?

A full charge takes approximately three hours and provides around six 10-minute treatments. The controller is what you charge rather than the mask itself, so once it's ready to go, you can enjoy your treatments without being tethered to a power outlet.
